For Chuck Dixon, helping people make the most of their financial assets is rewarding work. Chuck enjoys guiding his clients as they implement the investment strategies that help them meet their financial and life goals.
As president of Dixon & Co., Chuck takes a comprehensive approach to wealth management*. He sees his role as helping people make well-informed decisions about their investments and retirement plans—providing them with greater financial independence.
With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Chuck was one of the first CPA’s in the FM 1960 area. He was providing financial planning services even before it was widely known as a profession. As a Personal Financial Specialist, he has demonstrated the knowledge required to help preserve and grow the hard-earned assets of his clients, many of whom have experienced major life changes including retirement, divorce, or the loss of a spouse.
Chuck graduated from Lamar University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He holds the Certified Public Accountant designation and has also been awarded the PFS credential by the AICPA. The PFS credential distinguishes CPAs as competent providers of personal financial planning services.
When he’s not working, Chuck enjoys spending time with his wife Shelly and his daughter, Lisa. His passions include scuba diving, snow skiing and travel.
Corporate Overview
Dixon & Co.
At Dixon & Co., our mission is simple: to provide personalized investment advice that minimizes our clients’ financial concerns and maximizes their confidence with investing.
Charles Dixon, president of Dixon & Co., understands that every client has unique needs. Our role is to help you make smart, well-informed decisions about your investments—providing you with greater financial independence.
We are affiliated with AIG Financial Advisors, Inc., one of the country’s leading independent broker-dealers. This alliance allows Dixon & Co. to provide comprehensive quarterly performance reports, detailed tax information, and high levels of advice and service at a reasonable cost.
While each of our clients is unique, they all have one thing in common: They want unbiased investment advice from experienced professionals. Our clients look to Dixon & Co. to help preserve their capital and assist in providing growth in their portfolios* after taxes and inflation. They have worked hard for their money and look to us to guide them toward financial independence in retirement.
Our Approach
When you start working with Dixon & Co., we become your “personal chief financial officer,” offering the resources to coordinate all of your financial needs. Dixon & Co. has on staff key professionals who can handle your estate planning, retirement planning, and even your tax planning. We believe that the synergy created by professionals working together makes our team approach more efficient than working with any one of us individually.
Unlike many advisors, we are an independent firm with no proprietary investment products to push. Our approach is different—we are a fee-for-service company.
- We have found that for many clients, a fee-based approach may be more advantageous than a commission based approach.
- Our fees vary depending on portfolio size, type of assets, management style and, in some cases, performance.
- Because our fees increase only if your portfolio grows, our interests are aligned with yours. We focus on your financial objectives and your future.
Our Investment Process
Before we begin developing your investment strategy, we take a good, hard look at where you are today. We assess your investment goals, available resources, desired rate of return, and risk tolerance. This research allows us to customize a plan to fit your specific needs.
Asset allocation is the process of allocating investment funds into different asset classes in a way that is designed to enable you to maximize your expected return for a specific level of risk. We have found that it is responsible for more than 90 percent of the variations in portfolio performance—so choosing the right asset allocation for you is our top priority. Investors should understand that asset allocation cannot assure a profit or protect against a loss.
But our interest in your success doesn’t stop there:
- We carefully monitor its progress, providing you with quarterly reports that summarize your activity and compare it to your goals.
- We make periodic adjustments to rebalance your portfolio, ensuring that our strategies stay on track with your needs.
- Our philisophy is that we will not take unnecessary risks and our emphasis is always on capital preservation.
